She's baack...
Well Blogger Fam,
My month of separation has come to an end, and as of tomorrow, October 1, I will be resuming my activity on Facebook and Twitter. I know I didn't blog as much as I promised I would, but I hope the posts I did publish encouraged somebody. But, let's talk about what I learned this month...
I learned that the Devil is not playing with me! He knew I wanted to spend more time in prayer and devotion to with God, and any obstacle that could be thrown in my way, sho nuff was! All of a sudden, I was sleepy all the time, eating more, praying less, and struggling to read my Bible. But thank God, He didn't give up on me! He helped me to study my Word even more, He kept calling me to pray, even when I was dead tired, and He reminded me of where my help comes from. So I'm grateful.
I've also become more aware of how much of a living testimony my life already is, and the steps I need to take to go further. I've learned the difference between agreeing to pray "for" somebody, and praying "with" them. I am striving to become less of a spiritual enabler and more of an encourager for people to truly seek God for themselves. Not simply for their personal wants and needs, but to see what God wants for and from them. To understand that by serving God, we are automatically blessed, and our needs will be met always.
Last but not least, I used this month to connect with my family and friends on a deeper level than short status updates on Twitter and Facebook. The thing about modern technology is that it seems to take the personal aspect out of staying in touch. Without the networks, I was forced to pick up the phone and take time out of my schedule to sit down and talk or Skype. I had almost forgotten how satisfying it feels to catch up with my cousin, or friends from college. God gives us people to lean on and to support one another. We would all do well to remember them better.
Last last but not least... I DID develop some better study habits, although they still leave much to be desired. But I am off to a good start, and I am on my way to becoming much more organized and healthy in my approach to academics. Lord knows (literally) how I ever made it this far!
Be Blessed, Happy October!
:-)
